- The acai palm tree, native to tropical Central and South America, produces a deep purple fruit. The acai fruit has long been an important food source for indigenous peoples of the Amazon region, who brought it with them as they migrated to Brazilian cities in the 60’s and 70’s.
- The Gracie family, who helped elevate Brazilian jujitsu to its status as an incredibly popular and effective martial art, included acas bowls as part of the prescribed diet for their trainees. Its low sugar, high fiber, and energy boosting properties made it perfect for their athletes.
